The funny part is how all this French rioting started. Two kids - one African and one Arab - fled a police identity check and hid in one of those electrical sub-stations. You know, the ones with the big DANGER: HIGH VOLTAGE signs all over them. Surprise, surprise, they both went up like sparklers.
So, the French kiddies decided that a couple of Darwin nominees learning the definition of "well grounded" is a reason to burn cars. The total number of vehicular arsons is well over 2,500.
I think yesterday saw the first fatality. Police have taken some incoming birdshot but mostly just firebombs. |
