While Indiana Department of Natural Resources conservation officers frequently receive calls from people claiming to have seen cougars, mountain lions, and other exotic critters, they were a bit surprised when deer hunter Kevin Blume called on the opening day of archery season to say he had possibly bagged an elk near Columbia City.
