[Ben]: | "Next time ..." | No discussion found | I've been hearing a lot of folks (especially in online forums) say "Well, I don't like Bush or Kerry, but ______ is better than ______ - so this time I have to vote the lesser of the two evils, but I'll vote my convictions next election."
This ticks me off. Not because people are voting for the lesser of the two evils, but because people are lying to themselves and claiming that they'll vote for what they truly believe when the boogieman passes.
Face it, the boogieman doesn't pass. In four years the choice will be more or less the same - two candidates, neither great and both the incarnation of evil to the members of the other party. Once again, the threat of "the other guy" getting into power will be enough to make them vote for their chosen less-evil party line and nothing will change. |
