The way we handle welfare these days makes me sick. It's not that I don't understand that there are people with valid needs - needs that are in many cases wonderfully served by organizations like The Lord's Pantry at Anna's House who use private and corporate donations to distribute food to the genuine needy while working to spot and cut off the greedy. When you behave as though you have limited resources, you do that.
I've got a bunch of thoughts about entitlement mentality and how we got where we are brewing. If I get a chance, I'll put fingers to keyboard and get them out there.
