It is sad that this would surprise anyone.
As to the estimated $2,000,000 in lost revenue ... well ... keep in mind that the government taxes everything, not just sales, and the state cut will be plenty. I doubt Arkansas lost a penny of taxes on the deal if you factor everything in.
The really shocking thing is that a permanent reduction in taxes can increase long-term tax revenue even more.
Of course, nothing would never be enough to offset our current entitlement spending. |
