| [Ben]: | Fresh Baked Bread | Discuss This [6 comments so far] View Comments | For a long time now, Cara has baked just about all the bread we eat. This has spoiled me, and I've grown accustomed to having home-made bread.
Recently, I decided to take it to the next step and bought a hand-cranked grain mill and a bag of wheat berries. Last night I spent a good while grinding some flour and tonight I baked a test loaf. I rushed it and didn't knead it enough, didn't let it rise enough and didn't bake it long enough, but it was still awesome. A little butter, a glass of milk ... yum.
The process of grinding flour by hand takes some effort, but since Cara is willing to bake me bread, I'm more than willing to grind the flour for her. |
