As the old saying goes: "Better to be silent and thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt."
In this case, Mayor Ballard - having attempted to deal with the political fallout of nominating notoriouslyanti-gunFrank Straub as Public Safety Director for Indianapolis - just had to go and make another stink about guns. This time, Ballard threatened a veto on city council legislation that prohibits the carrying of handguns by licensed individuals at parks.
The idea behind the prohibition seems to be that someone willing to murder someone will be concerned about a city ordinance against carrying guns in parks. Great logic guys!
