I totally agree. Can we start with anything you have to say as the beginning of "content that should just not be available to be viewed"? It isn't a campaign against your free speech, you understand, I just think the public interest would be better served if everything you said was censored.

Congratulations, Burnham, you win the Captain Obvious award. Then again, I'm not sure what kind of internet you want to build that you could let a child screw around on for two hours without supervision. As a parent, it is your job to provide your children with an appropriate level of supervision whether your child is on the internet or is in the park. As well, what one parent might consider appropriate is guaranteed to be different from what other parents think is okay. Even with government ratings, I might not be comfortable with my children viewing something you are happy to let them view. In other words, it is parental responsibility one way or another.
You do realize, Mr. Burnham, that the internet is in large part a giant network designed to facilitate communication between people, right? And that the only way to come close to a "child safe" internet is to enact a simply massive censorship campaign to prevent individuals from communicating with other individuals.

Well that's something that we agree on, at least. I could definitely see Obama pushing something like that. |
