[Ben]: | The pain of the bleeding-edge | Discuss This [1 comment so far] View Comments | I've been looking forward to the iPhone update for quite some time. First and foremost, it will add some enterprise-level features for the iPhone that will give it real Exchange support, email push capabilities and even remote wipe so I can kill the data on a stolen phone remotely.
So, I tried to update the firmware and now it won't let me do anything to the phone except make emergency calls.
Apple. It just works fails.
I think it is related to the fact that the Apple servers that host software updates are toast. Needless to say, I'm not very happy about it.
Update:
Misery loves company.
Update 2: This is a fun forum to watch today.
Apparently Apple thought that the global launch of a new software product and of new phones wouldn't be all that much of a load on their servers. That lack of planning, coupled with the "You must connect to the mothership to do anything" has left a lot of people a little miffed.
Update 3: Finally? Maybe?
Yay. Only 3 hours after the fact. Woo hoo. |
