I think the stains came out much lighter than I wanted because the surface of these blocks of wood is so smooth. The fact that it is pine doesn't help. I may try oak instead, but the shaping will be more work if I do.
I don't know much about staining. Would multiple coats help? Can I mix colors?
Sorry for the poor quality of images recently. It is very convenient to just use my phone, and I end up taking more pictures that way. When I get the chance to work on my camera some, I'll probably play with that a little more. |
