[Ben]: | Lightworker? | Discuss This [1 comment so far] View Comments | Recently I had been hearing references to Obama as the Lightworker. Initially I dismissed it as some sort of comedic reference that I simply didn't get. Eventually, though, I learned it came from this piece (warning, may cause diabetes)
What the heck? I understand, there are a lot of people who really, really like Hopey McChange, but isn't this taking it a little far? I would say it borders on worship, but that wouldn't be quite true. It doesn't just border on worship, it launched a full-scale blitzkreig into worship through Belgium.
No, it's not merely his youthful vigor, or handsomeness, or even inspiring rhetoric. |
Even Bill Clinton, with all his effortless, winking charm, didn't have what Obama has, which is a sort of powerful luminosity, a unique high-vibration integrity. |
Dismiss it all you like, but I've heard from far too many enormously smart, wise, spiritually attuned people who've been intuitively blown away by Obama's presence - not speeches, not policies, but sheer presence - to say it's just a clever marketing ploy, a slick gambit carefully orchestrated by hotshot campaign organizers who, once Obama gets into office, will suddenly turn from perky optimists to vile soul-sucking lobbyist whores, with Obama as their suddenly evil, cackling overlord. |
Many spiritually advanced people I know (not coweringly religious, mind you, but deeply spiritual) identify Obama as a Lightworker, that rare kind of attuned being who has the ability to lead us not merely to new foreign policies or health care plans or whatnot, but who can actually help usher in a new way of being on the planet, of relating and connecting and engaging with this bizarre earthly experiment. These kinds of people actually help us evolve. They are philosophers and peacemakers of a very high order, and they speak not just to reason or emotion, but to the soul. |
There's a vast amount of positive energy swirling about that's been held back by the armies of BushCo darkness, and this energy has now found a conduit, a lightning rod, is now effortlessly self-organizing around Obama's candidacy. People and emotions and ideas of high and positive vibration are automatically drawn to him. It's exactly like how Bush was a magnet for the low vibrational energies of fear and war and oppression and aggression, but, you know, completely reversed. |
I don't know where to begin ...
But I'll try ...
Barack Obama is a fantastically powerful figure not because of deed or merit, but because his followers idolize him. I have defended him in the past by mentioning at least one person who has worked with him from the Republican party who had nothing evil to say about him. At the same time, the absolute adulation with which his devotees follow him is frightening. We are witnessing a deification, but I don't think Barack is being idolized because he is a Lightworker or has really groovy vibes.
I know that the above piece is not necessarily representative of Obama supporters as a whole, but the prevalence of supporters fainting at the sight of him, getting "chills up their legs" on national TV and so forth certainly puts Barack in new territory for modern US politics. Scary territory in my opinion. Historically, demagogues don't tend to be the nicest rulers.
By the way, I can comprehend and indeed rally around the concept of change. Indeed, there are a plenitude of changes I personally hope for when it comes to the government and the way it is run. However, Obama and his handlers seek to equate Obama with all change without regard to the goal and thrust of that change. Let me make this clear: Change is not a direction. Change is a movement away from the status quo, but the wrong change can be worse than stagnation. |
