[Ben]: | Adding "View Source" to Outlook Web Access | Discuss This [0 comments so far] View Comments | I use Outlook Web Access (OWA) sometimes, especially at work if I'm having trouble diagnosing the reason why folks can't send emails to our work server. One thing that OWA lacks is the ability to view full headers. Completely unavailable.
Today I started looking around and found dozens of references to a mythical application designed by a programmer named Sig Weber that would do just this. It would add a context menu option to allow the source to be viewed. Perfect!
Unfortunately, Sig's website seems to have moved around a few dozen times. Links refer variously to:
http://www.asaris-matrix.com/sweber/playground/downloads/forms/DispForm.aspx?ID=18
http://www.asaris.de/sites/playground/Downloads/Forms/AllItems.aspx
And a few more, I think.
Anyway, I finally found the site here and downloaded the file. Unfortunately, it was built for a different version of Exchange. The script was designed for version 6.5.6944.0 and I was running 6.5.7651.60. Seeing as how this was a javascript utility, I figured I'd give it a shot. Sure enough, I was able to port Sig's slick solution over to my build without too much trouble.
Feel free to download it (with Sig's solution and instructions) here.
(I know, very few of my regular readers will care at all, but this is really to save some poor sysop out there some time if they stumble across this.)
Edit: Did I just say sysop? I meant sysadmin. Wow, that takes me back. Did I ever tell you guys about the BBS I was active on in Pasadena? The sysop that ran it was a police lieutenant. It was my first, personal network account. I dialed into it at a blazing 9600 baud. I'm sure it is now long since defunct. |
