A young girl takes a steak knife to school to cut her steak. No one has claimed she did anything other than cut food with it. She's been suspended for ten days, arrested and is facing a felony conviction for bringing a "weapon" to school.
Zero tolerance at its finest.
Look, I know these rules exist for a reason, but does anyone think that they are serving that purpose now?
Like gun laws, these kinds of policies are akin to using a grenade to remove a tumor. Sloppy. Imprecise. Dangerous. Stupid. |
