| Earlier this week the Natural Resources Commission adopted a permanent rule to allow licensed handguns in State parks. The rule replaced an emergency rule. Although we received many comments in advance, there were few people at the meeting at Pokagon State Park to comment. Some people strongly opposed the rule, but the comments generally and just as passionately supported the change. The only wrinkle is that the Corps of Engineers refused to allow the change at reservoirs that the DNR operates. The rule will now go to the Governor’s Office, AG, and on to the Secretary of State for final approvals and deposition. |
